Life Beyond Sport
Life Beyond Sport is a new podcast that will see extraordinary figures from across society join host Nick Keller each week to discuss the impact that sport has had on their lives. Each guest brings to the table *three* key moments in sport that have shaped and defined their life journey; the kind of moments that unite us, challenge us, teach us and allow us to celebrate exceptional occasions with friends and family, across the world and across generations. Life Beyond Sport is more than a podcast though, it’s a reminder that across the world sport is used to support young and old and to bring communities together to effect change & impact around education, health & inclusion.

Episode 3
In this bonus episode, we reflect on one of the best stories told on Life Beyond Sport.
Legendary broadcaster Jeremy Thompson recounts his experiences across an incredible year - 1984 - which saw him get a lot more than he bargained for...
After reporting on the Los Angeles Olympic Games for ITV almost single-handedly, Thompson was sent to India to cover an England Test cricket tour. But in the process, the sports correspondent was drafted in to report on the assassination of an Indian Prime Minister and a British diplomat, as well as major riots, political turmoil, and an industrial accident which claimed the lives of almost 4,000 people.
